Daniel-José Cyan

Born in Guatemala, I immigrated to the United States when I was 4. Growing up, my passion had always been the arts: from performing to literature to visual and later graphic.
I remember, before ever owning a phone, or before phones even had cameras, I would try to get my hands on any kind of camera and take pictures of things I enjoyed. I think like most kids, I recorded videos when I had my first video camera of myself in story lines I created. Little did I know these interests would one day become something I invested time in.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Film from Hunter College in 2020. In my time there I was learning how to use a camera to better tell the stories I want to tell.  I want to better tell stories I needed when I was growing up, and the ones I wish I see now as an adult.
I think the beauty in art is that the artist has the freedom and capabilities to share something about themselves or others through various mediums. I intend to use that to its full potential.
